A safety train the trainer certification course prepares one person on your staff to deliver a topic in-house, so you stop paying per worker each time you hire. Q Safety Academy describes each course as preparing the trainer to teach and issue QR code badges and certificates. This course does not make you an OSHA Outreach authorized trainer, and it does not let you issue OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 cards.

Buy a single-topic course when one hazard drives most of your training. Buy a full program when your trainer will cover most of your annual training calendar.

Choosing the Right Trainer

The course prepares the trainer to deliver the material. Your employer still decides who is qualified to train and still owes each worker the hands-on practice and evaluation the standard requires.

For forklifts, 1910.178(l) requires the trainer to have the knowledge, training, and experience to train operators and evaluate their competence. Choose someone who already operates the equipment well.

Single-topic courses provide 36 months of access, according to the Q Safety Academy catalog, so the trainer can review the material before each class.

Train the Trainer FAQ

Does this course make me an OSHA authorized trainer?

No. It does not make you an OSHA Outreach authorized trainer. That status comes from OSHA Training Institute courses such as OSHA 500 or 501.

Can my trainer issue OSHA cards after this course?

No. These courses are not OSHA Outreach trainer courses and do not authorize anyone to issue Department of Labor cards.

Can I get train the trainer certification online?

Yes. Each course runs online and ends with a certificate of completion from Q Safety Academy. Your trainer still delivers the hands-on portion of each topic in person.

Is there a forklift train the trainer course?

Yes. The forklift course prepares the person who delivers formal instruction and evaluates operators under 1910.178(l).

Is one topic enough?

Buy single-topic courses when one or two hazards drive your training. When your trainer will teach most topics, a full program costs less than several single-topic courses bought separately.
