Every hazmat employee needs training in general awareness and familiarization, function-specific duties, safety, and security awareness. Employees at a company that must keep a security plan also need in-depth security training.
An online course covers the general components; function-specific training has to match the job each employee does. Add your own instruction on the packages, shipping papers, and loading procedures your people use, then test them.

DOT HAZMAT Training Every Three Years
New hazmat employees must be trained within 90 days of hire or a change in job function, and may work only under direct supervision of a trained employee until then. Recurrent training is due at least once every three years.
Your record for each employee must show the name, the date of the most recent training, a description or copy of the materials, the name and address of the trainer, and certification that the employee was trained and tested.
